Austria is THE top destination for winter sports in Europe. In recent years, Austrian cable car companies have invested a great deal in quality assurance, safety, technology and the environment. 163 million of the 550 million Euro budget for 2009 was designated for artificial snowing, which ensured that 66 % of Austrian slopes were open all season thanks to the use of snowmaking machines. The result is satisfied guests! 92% of winter sportspersons are delighted with their stay in Austrian mountains.

The importance of the cable cars and maintaining their operation even in seasons with poor snow fall, was highlighted in a survey for the winter of 2006/07, which surveyed 17,500 guests. Despite the late start to the season and poor snow conditions in some resorts, they were satisfied with Austrian pistes.

The level of satisfaction with Austrian pistes is also reflected in guests’ recommendation. When asked if they would recommend the ski resort to a friend or colleague, almost 60% answered "Absolutely".
